This policy explains what information Marathon Counsel collects through this website, how that information is used, and the choices you have. It covers the website only. It is not legal advice.

Information we collect

The website collects information in one place: the contact form. When you submit it, we receive the name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), and message you enter. Our hosting provider also records standard technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, in routine server logs.

How we use your information

We use what you send to read your inquiry, respond to you, and decide whether the firm is a fit for your matter. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How your information is handled

Form submissions are delivered to the firm by Web3Forms, a form-handling service that forwards your message to our email. The site is hosted on Vercel. Both providers process your information so the form and the website can work. We share your information with them for that purpose and do not share it with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

The website does not use advertising or analytics trackers and sets no marketing cookies. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which serves the font files your browser requests.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry messages for as long as we need them to respond and to meet our professional and recordkeeping obligations, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your inquiry at any time.

Your choices

To ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, email michael@marathoncounsel.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

The website runs over HTTPS, and form submissions travel over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the form. Contacting the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship, and you should not send confidential details until an engagement letter is in place.

Children

The website is meant for businesses and the people who run them. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
